Suhrid has over 15 years’ experience working with the agriculture and agribusiness sectors across Asia, Africa and Europe. He has a deep interest in building and financing sustainable agriculture, food and green energy systems/supply chains.
He particularly has in-depth knowledge of the agri sector in western and central India having extensive on-the-ground experience there of building farming and supply chain operations from scratch, leading field research projects, and providing advisory to local agribusiness and NGOs. Additionally, during his many years with agri-economics consultancy LMC International, he led major in-country projects in Tanzania, Myanmar and Sri Lanka assessing market and investment opportunities in these countries’ sugar sectors. Prior to this, he began his career as an ODI Fellow placed in Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security, where his responsibilities included sector coordination work with international development agencies such as the FAO and WFP.
Suhrid has a MSc Development Management and BSc Geography and Economics from the London School of Economics; as well certificates in Sustainable Food Production and Processing, and in Sustainable Finance, from the University of Cambridge’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
