Irene has over 15 years of experience in management consulting and financial advisory, focusing on private sector development and investment in emerging markets, including Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and Latin America.

Irene has deep experience in investment strategy & facilitation, business growth strategy, and impact investment, with sector expertise in agriculture, renewable energy, and enabling technologies. She has an entrepreneurial mindset and experience supporting the growth of innovative management consulting and financial advisory firms focused on advancing African economies and building local talent. She also has a successful track record in leading and supporting the professional and personal development of multicultural teams.

Irene holds a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University. Her publications include groundbreaking research and analysis on the early-stage financing ecosystem globally as well as the innovative and evolving off-grid energy sector, on behalf of organizations such as Acumen Fund, British International Investment (formerly CDC), the Dutch Good Growth Fund, Gatsby Africa, and the World Bank Group. She has been based in Nairobi, Kenya and Cape Town, South Africa for the last nine years.
